Examples of Cost Reduction Due to Changes in Design Drawings (Part 2)
Please leave everything to us, such as 'I don't know where to consult' or 'I only have a vague image'!
The basic concept is "reducing the hassle of tool changes." Based on this, I will explain the fundamental ideas. An important item for recording the dimensions of the female thread section is "effective depth." The basic idea is that the male thread used should be up to M5×12. There is a specification for the R size of the outer corner of the workpiece, but if it has no particular significance, a right angle (as per the material) or a C face is recommended. 【Cost Reduction Points】 ■ Tapping ■ Corner R, C face - Right angle: Since it is as the material is, no processing is needed, making it cost-effective. - C face: Depending on the situation, it may be possible to instruct the material supplier to cut the C face, which can slightly reduce processing costs. - R face: Since processing takes time, when considered partially, the processing cost can be about 1.3 to 1.5 times higher compared to "right angle." *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
